Generosity with wealth is not only a joy but a responsibility. That freedom comes at a very high cost that can never be paid in full. The duty to strive to extend and accord that freedom to all others who are less fortunate, not only in the wealth department but also in the freedom department.
The idea has difficult but also very fascinating implications – why the duty exists, and how to fulfill it.

Retired from practicing law, John is an author, musician, environmental and social activist, and a philanthropist. John came to public attention when he landed the big one on the dot com wheel of fortune with NETeller, an online money transfer platform for the internet gambling industry, which did an IPO in 2003 and achieved a market cap of $2 billion. In 2007 he was arrested in America for that business.
That does make a fascinating story, but now, John is mostly interested in our future. His focus is the responsibilities of freedom, including the responsibilities of wealth, and the principles that we might adopt to fulfill our promise as a thoughtful species.
